Dear Club Secretary,
Please allow me to introduce myself. I am a committee member of the York City Football Club supporters' group, York Minstermen. My area of responsibility within the group is the organisation of fundraising events and activities. I also manage the 50/50 Cash Draw at York City's 1st team home games.
At a recent committee meeting, we decided to try and organise a Football Quiz for representatives of our fellow football clubs in the area, taking advantage of York's central position.
The idea is to have an enjoyable social event, which will also see money raised for an appropriate charity and the chance for the winning team to win a £100 prize for their club.
The quiz will take place in the York City FC Social Club on Thursday 19th November with an 8pm start (doors will open at 7pm).
We are inviting around 15 clubs (all from leagues below the Football League) to enter one or two teams (4 members per team). The clubs range from Goole in the south to Guisborough in the north and Bridlington in the east to Farsley in the west.
The teams could be made up from supporters, club officials or even players. I know that York City will be represented by a team of youth team players and a team of youth team players' parents.
As sponsors and organisers of the event, York Minstermen will offer a £100 prize to the club being represented by the winning quiz team.
Entry will cost just £10 per team and this will be used to cover the cost of food, trophies and a few additional prizes for the winning team members.
There will also be a raffle in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, which we feel is an appropriate regional charity. Any surplus from the entry fees will also be donated to the charity.
If you, or someone else at your club, would like to enter the York Minstermen Football Quiz, please send a cheque, payable to YORK MINSTERMEN, for £10 per team to the address at the bottom of this e-mail. The deadline for receipt of entries is Monday 2nd November.

I wonder whether anyone on the forum would be interested in organising one or two teams to represent the club.
So far, it looks like York City, Garforth Town, Scarborough Town, Farsley Celtic, Scarborough Athletic and Northallerton Town but we are hoping to welcome several other clubs, who have not yet replied.
